    Re-opening Schools for 2020-21

After much research, analysis, consultation and deliberation, we have determined to launch the 2020/2021 school year on a fully VIRTUAL model. This model will continue until further notice. The district works closely with the Department of Health on our decisions. Students will return virtually on August 7. The start of the school year has been adjusted to allow teachers time to prepare and train. Click to view the revised 2020-21 MVSD Calendar.

Chromebooks and materials will be going home. Instruction will be daily. No alternative programs will be offered at this time.

Special Education and student support services (speech, OT, etc.) will be offered and program options are to be determined. Our teachers will be providing a rigorous program focused on state standards with board-approved grading, projects and homework VIRTUALLY.

While this may not be our preferred educational model...it is the safest model for our community during this public health crisis. More information will be available on our websites and school sites next week.

Be safe. Be mindful. Be kind. Wear a mask.

    About Us

Mountain View School District was founded in 1884 in the agricultural lands of the former Spanish Ranchos. The district began as a small one room school house at Collins Station along the Southern Pacific Railroad. In 1942 a new school was built on the corner of Archibald and Walnut close to where our district office building now stands. The region grew and a new Mountain View School was built in 1962 followed by Grace Yokley School in 1982, Creek View School in 1986 and Ranch View School in 1991. Our district currently has 2559 students served by 104 teachers and 170 administration and support staff. We continue to grow with the expansion of the City of Ontario in the Ontario Ranch developments. We look forward to welcoming new families to our Mountain View School District community.

Mountain View School District is a school community whose members focus on the whole child: ensuring each child is safe, that each child's needs are met, and that each child is provided an education of the highest quality.

Our continuing mission at Mountain View School District is to provide a foundation for sustained educational excellence for students and staff by setting clear goals and high expectations in a safe and trusting environment that supports individual success.
